Class Descriptions
This is the perfect class for anyone interested in learning about yoga and returning to yoga. This gentle and nurturing class is designed to provide an introduction to the fundamentals of yoga. In this six week session the students will gain an understanding of the basic yoga positions, learn correct positioning and alignment, receive detailed instruction on combining breath and movement, and experience the peace and clarity of meditation. Upon completion, students will be ready to enter Yoga I-II classes.
Hatha/Iyengar Style
Widely known for its ability to increase stamina, strength and flexibility, yoga enhances
both your mental and physical quality of life.
This class draws upon traditions of Hatha and Iyengar Yoga. The focus is on proper structural alignment within each asana, and how to make appropriate adjustments to the asana to best meet the needs of each student’s body. Classes include poses (asana), breathing practices (pranayama), flow of poses (vinyasa) and brief meditation.
Students are encouraged to be adventurous and discover their edge while acknowledging
limitations with increasing self-compassion.
This class appropriate for the advanced beginner to intermediate student interested in expanding and deepening their yoga practice. Each student will be encouraged and supported to engage at their own level of skill and experience.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga
This class carefully combines yoga asanas in a graduated sequence of rhythmic movements of body and breath to create a dynamic, challenging and meditative flow. The asanas, combined with body alignment, physical conditioning, and breathing exercises (pranayama) will help you discover many paths to strength, flexibility, healing and mindfulness.
Appropriate for advanced beginners to very experienced practitioners.
Rise and Shine Yoga
A gentle way to move into morning. This class is designed to awaken your body and mind through a combination of asana (postures), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. We will build slowly, creating heat in the body, suppleness in the muscles and joints and a calm awareness of the relationship between mind and body. Start you day refreshed, invigorated and inspired.
Evening Yoga
Wind down from your busy day with this class designed to help you wash away stress and restore your own personal balance. Evening Yoga is a gentle restorative and affirming class with a healing combination of asana (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and meditation.
Appropriate for all levels.
Private Instruction
For those wishing to deepen their understanding of yoga on a one-to-one basis, this is the class for you. Start from the very beginning, deepen your existing knowledge, reach towards your edge, and/or explore more advanced techniques. Scheduling at your convenience.
